The Legal Affairs Office plays a crucial role in ensuring Compliance and effective risk management. It Safeguards CHUK’s operations by ensuring compliance with national laws and regulations as well as transparence in decisions such as, Procurement processes, contracts and tenders to avoid institutional potential legal risks. The Office further contributes in strengthening contract, Litigation and disputes resolutions management by providing timely legal opinion, draft and review (Memorandums of Understanding -MoUs and agreements in all aspects as required.
It also handles complaints and follow up on litigation cases submitted in courts against CHUK to protect CHUK’s interests, while ensuring efficiency in dispute resolution. The Legal experts also promote good governance, policy development and institutional accountability. They contribute in drafting, reviewing and interpretation of the laws, regulations and internal policies, by offering well informed legal advice, both writed and verbal, to guide management in taking well-grounded and compliant decisions that are align with applicable framework.

Mr. Oswald and Mrs. Agnes are Legal Affairs staff members at CHUK. They provide legal guidance to the hospital management and staff on different legal matters. They review and prepare contracts, agreements, and other legal documents. They help ensure that hospital activities follow the laws, policies, and regulations of the country and the hospital. They handle legal complaints, disputes, and disciplinary cases involving staff or patients. They support the hospital in preventing legal risks and resolving conflicts in a professional manner. They also work closely with government institutions, courts, and other partners on legal issues related to the hospital. In addition, they help protect the rights, interests, and reputation of the hospital through proper legal support and advice.
