The Clinical Education and Research Division at the University Teaching Hospital of Kigali (CHUK) leads the advancement of high-quality clinical training and research in Rwanda.

The Clinical Education and Research Division at the University Teaching Hospital of Kigali (CHUK) serves as a central pillar in advancing high-quality clinical training and research in Rwanda. As a leading academic institution, CHUK is equipped with highly skilled professionals and modern infrastructure, providing an exceptional environment for both clinical education and research across all stages.

The Division is mandated to coordinate and strengthen academic and commercial research while ensuring excellence in the training of healthcare professionals. It promotes a safe, patient-centered clinical learning environment and ensures that all research activities comply with ethical standards, regulations, and best practices.

Key responsibilities include fostering research engagement among staff, overseeing research governance and ethics, supporting continuous professional development, and facilitating the dissemination of research outcomes to influence policy and practice. The Division also builds strategic partnerships and collaborations at both national and international levels.

Its functions are implemented through two main directorates: the Clinical Education Directorate and the Research Directorate, ensuring a structured and effective approach to delivering its mandate.
